Cheaper by the Dozen-Rated PG
I am a huge Steve Martin fan so I didn’t expect anything less than absolute pleasure from this movie. I was not disappointed! While it didn’t come remotely close to being like the book, it was charming enough to make me wish I had twelve children.
It was slightly hard to believe Bonnie Hunt as the mother of twelve, seeing as she has quite a stunning figure. But I was able to get past it once I forgave her.
My kids enjoyed seeing some popular children’s stars on the big screen. My husband really liked the underwear soaked in raw hamburger scene.
I appreciated that the movie portrayed some solid family values. While the kids were a little bratty, it was directly proportioned to the amount of time their parents were away from home. And even though the oldest daughter (Piper Perabo) was living in an apartment with her boyfriend (Ashton Kutcher) her parents were very firm on the fact that they were not allowed to share a bedroom when they came to visit. That’s a stand not many parents take these days.
Cheaper by the Dozen is definitely a must-see family movie!
